Nottingham, 08 July (H.S.): England registered a commanding 125-run victory over India in the third T20 International at Trent Bridge on Tuesday to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Chasing a daunting target of 202, the Indian batting line-up collapsed against England's pace attack and was bowled out for just 76 runs.
India began their chase aggressively, with Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi playing a few attractive strokes. However, England's fast bowlers Josh Tongue and Jofra Archer struck early to dismantle the top order. Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube also failed to make significant contributions.
India lost five wickets within the first six overs, and the batting collapse continued as the entire side was dismissed for 76 in just 11.4 overs.
Josh Tongue was England's standout bowler, claiming four wickets, while Jofra Archer picked up three. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid also played a key role, taking two wickets.
Earlier, England posted an imposing total of 201 for seven in their allotted 20 overs. Phil Salt starred with a fluent 70, while Sam Curran remained unbeaten on 41. Jos Buttler contributed 36 runs to strengthen England's innings.
For India, Prince Yadav and Harshit Rana claimed two wickets each.
With the emphatic victory, England now lead the five-match series 2-0 and will have the opportunity to seal the series in the next match.
