Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin said on Monday that the party is committed to realising the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, guided by the ideals of Sant Ravidas and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the nation.
Speaking at the sacred Mati Kalash Vandan and Distribution Programme organised at Talkatora Stadium under the Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan, Nabin said that the purpose of the campaign is to spread to every person the ideas of Sant Ravidas on social harmony, equality and selfless action.
The event was organised to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas.
Nabin said that under the leadership of PM Modi, development schemes are being delivered to the poor and the last person in the queue, and 25 crore people have been brought out of poverty.
He said the knowledge and resolve that saints and great men have given to Indian culture and society is reflected today in PM Modi carrying forward the basic mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.”
The BJP chief stated that the manner in which PM Modi has led the country for such a long period with a spirit of selfless service reflects a commitment to advancing society without any personal desire or expectation of reward.
Nabin said on Monday that BJP is starting this Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan with the ideas of Sant Ravidas.
“We believe that when foreign invasions happened and there was an attempt to take people towards mass conversions, even at that time the thoughts and struggle of Sant Shiromani Ravidas worked to save Indian society and Sanatan traditions,” he said in a statement.
The party would celebrate the entire birth anniversary year of Sant Shiromani Ravidas until February next year, during which numerous programmes would be organised, including honouring saints and taking a pledge to establish their ideals in society, said the BJP president.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP president and Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, National vice president and programme coordinator Lal Singh Arya, SC Morcha national president Shivesh Kumar Ram and senior party leader Dushyant Gautam, along with other leaders, were present on the stage during the event, the statement said.
