Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today issued guidlines on the three language policy. In a statement the board said that the current batch of class 10th will not have to follow the new language policy.
It also said that for the current batches studying in class 7th, 8th and 9th will also not be required to give board examination in the third language when they reach Class 10th.
CBSE has further stated that students in 7th, 8th and 9th classes who have already opted for two foreign languages will be allowed to continue with the same, while studying one additional native Indian language.
The board said that the grade appropriate resource material will be made available in a time bound manner.
