ANGUL: Chhendipada police under the supervision of SP Raul Jain have busted an inter-state gold cleaning fraud by arresting two persons and seizing three gold chains from them.Two other persons who had harboured them and facilitated also were arrested.
The arrested are Chandan Kumar Das ,39 of district katihar Bihar,Sarbana Kumar Shah of the district Katiar Bihar.Other two persons are Kousar Ali,40 and Purusottam Nayak,40 of Talcher who had harboured these two criminals.
Police seized three gold chains,ornament cleaning liquid and powder from their position.Another accused in this crime is still at large.
On August 26,a resident of Chhendipada Pratima Pradhan,75 had lodged a complaint that two persons coming in a motor cycle had taken away a golden chain weighing 20 gram in the name of cleaning.On the same day,another woman at Kosala complained to Chhendipada police that her gold chain was also fraudulently taken away by two fraudsters in name of cleaning..
Police said,these accused persons also had committed similar types of offences in Jarapada,Handappa and Athmallick area.
After these complaints ,Chhendipada police under the direction of SP Rahul Jain swung into action and conducted raids at the different parts of the district.
Finally ,the accused persons were apprehended from Balipata area under Chhendipada police station. These four accused persons have been arrested and have been forwarded to court today.
