Congress sharply criticised the Modi government, saying that on 11 June, Indian Second Officer Nishant Urthanathan died aboard a ship stranded in Oman. For the past 2-3 days, his body has been waiting to be brought back to India, but the Modi government has provided no assistance. His body is decomposing, and his fellow crew members have been forced to use cold water bottles to try and preserve it.
Congress said that Narendra Modi is a weak Prime Minister, and the failure of his government is something Indian citizens are suffering even after death. Our demand is that the Modi government immediately bring back Nishant ji’s mortal remains to India with dignity and honour.
Earlier, after the deaths of three Indian sailors in the Strait of Hormuz, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a strong attack on the Central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Posting on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi questioned the American attitude and accused them of neither expressing regret nor apologising after the incident.
In his post, Rahul Gandhi said that just days after three Indian sailors were killed in American attacks, instead of expressing condolences, the United States used commanding language.
Referring to the US statement, he pointed out that America said, “American military orders must be followed immediately,” and that no violation would be tolerated.
