Maharashtra: Amid the ongoing controversy over the NEET exam paper leak, the 2026 Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) has now also been hit by a similar incident.
After it was confirmed that the question paper had been leaked around 24 hours before the examination, the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, postponed the exam scheduled for June 28, 2026, until further orders.
Around 428,000 candidates from across the state were expected to appear for the examination. A total of 1,028 examination centers had been set up, and the council had claimed to have implemented strict security arrangements.
Despite this, acting on confidential information received by the Bhiwandi Police, a raid conducted on Saturday morning found some individuals in possession of questions that matched the official TET question paper.
After an investigation, the Maharashtra State Council of Examination confirmed that some of the recovered questions were indeed part of the actual examination paper. Following this, a case was registered at the Bhiwandi Police Station, and it was decided to postpone the examination with immediate effect.
The council stated that conducting a fair and transparent examination is its highest priority. Therefore, the exam will not be held until the detailed investigation is completed. The new examination date and other important information will be announced on the council's official website.
It is worth noting that this is not the first TET paper leak case in Maharashtra. In 2025, a TET examination question paper leak was also reported from Kolhapur.
